5'Nucleotidase

Use
The 5'Nucleotidase test is primarily used to evaluate liver function and to help differentiate whether an enzyme elevation is due to a hepatocellular pattern or a cholestatic pattern. It can be particularly useful in determining the cause of liver dysfunction when other test results are ambiguous.
Special Instructions
Separate serum from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours of collection. Avoid hemolysis and repeated freeze/thaw cycles for optimal test performance.
Limitations
This test has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is intended for clinical purposes and performed in a CLIA certified laboratory. Results should be interpreted in the context of the overall clinical picture, and false positives or negatives can occur due to pre-analytical or analytical factors.
