Allergen Panel, IgE by ImmunoCap ISAC
Also known as: ISAC MICRO
Use
The Allergen Panel, IgE by ImmunoCap ISAC is used to measure IgE antibody concentrations in patient serum or plasma. This test is particularly useful for identifying specific allergen sensitivities by measuring the binding of specific IgE to immobilized allergen components. The results are reported in ISAC Standardized Units (ISU), providing a semi-quantitative measure of the patient's sensitivity to 112 different allergen epitopes. This panel can aid in the diagnosis of allergic conditions and inform personalized treatment strategies.
Special Instructions
This test is not performed at ARUP Laboratories and requires a separate specimen if multiple tests are ordered. The test is conducted by Phadia Immunology Reference Laboratory.
Limitations
The test is not approved for use in New York State, and a Non-Permitted Laboratory Request Form (NPL) must be submitted to the NYDOH prior to collection of the specimen. Potential limitations include the potential for interference in patients with high total IgE levels, which may lead to non-specific binding and potentially misleading results. The test should be used in conjunction with clinical evaluation and patient history.
