Allergen, Region 19 Respiratory Panel IgE, Puerto Rico
Also known as: REG19PANEL
Use
This test is designed for allergen testing in patients located in Puerto Rico. It is particularly useful for identifying allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in the serum, which are indicative of allergic sensitizations pertinent to the region's environmental conditions.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided to prevent variability in allergen exposure. Serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible and transferred to a transport tube to ensure sample integrity.
Limitations
Allergen-specific IgE levels do not universally correlate with the severity of clinical reactions. Results must be interpreted in conjunction with clinical history and other diagnostic findings. Negative results may not rule out clinical allergies or anaphylaxis. Variability in IgE production over time may impact test outcomes.
