Allergen, Tomato IgG
Also known as: TOMATO IGG
Use
The Allergen, Tomato IgG test is used to detect the presence of IgG antibodies specific to tomato allergens. It assists in assessing a patient's sensitization to tomato, which may be correlated with food allergies or intolerances causing various symptoms. This test provides quantitative results that help in the clinical assessment and management of patients suspected to have food-related hypersensitivity or intolerances.
Special Instructions
Ensure adequate blood sample is drawn and handled as per the instructions. Separate the serum from the cells within 2 hours of collection, and store the specimen under the prescribed conditions to maintain its integrity for accurate test results.
Limitations
The test results should not be the sole basis for diagnosing a food allergy or intolerance as IgG antibody levels may not directly correspond to the clinical reaction severity. Other clinical assessments and the patient's history should be considered. Hemolyzed, icteric, or lipemic specimens can lead to inaccurate results, hence these conditions are unacceptable.
