Allergen, Weed, Wingscale (Atriplex canescens) IgE
Also known as: WINGSCALE
Use
The Wingscale (Atriplex canescens) IgE test measures the IgE antibody levels specific to the weed Wingscale. This test is used primarily for diagnosing allergies in patients showing clinical symptoms related to weed pollen allergens. Accurate diagnosis can help in managing allergic conditions by designing appropriate treatment or avoidance measures. The quantitative results are used to gauge the severity of the allergic response.
Special Instructions
Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. This test is not performed at ARUP Laboratories. Ensure proper specimen handling and adequate volume for accurate testing. Specimens should be separated from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours of collection.
Limitations
This test's performance characteristics are determined by Eurofins Viracor and have not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Interpretation of the test results should consider clinical correlation. Lipemic specimens are rejected as they may interfere with the test accuracy. Also, results should be interpreted with clinical findings and other diagnostic tests.
