Allergens, Tree Profile 4
Also known as: TREE PRO 4
Use
The test is used for detecting allergen-specific IgE antibodies in patients who may have an allergy to certain tree pollens. It aids in diagnosing potential allergic reactions to specific tree pollens, including Cottonwood Tree, Elm Tree, Oak Tree, Sycamore Tree, and Willow Tree. Results should be interpreted in the context of a patient's clinical history and in vivo reactivity to these allergens.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided. To ensure accurate results, multiple specimen tubes should be avoided during collection. It is crucial to separate serum from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours of collection.
Limitations
A negative test result may not rule out the possibility of a clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. Although increasing concentrations of allergen-specific IgE are reflected in the test results, these values might not directly correspond to the severity of clinical reactions or skin test outcomes when exposed to specific allergens.
