Androgen Receptor by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: AR IHC
Use
This immunohistochemistry (IHC) stain detects the presence of androgen receptor protein expression in tissue specimens. As a technical stain‑and‑return service, it aids pathologists in assessing androgen receptor status in tissue samples such as carcinomas, contributing to diagnostic characterization, treatment planning, or further immunohistochemical work‑up.
Special Instructions
Performed Monday through Friday as a stain‑and‑return technical service only. Clients should refer to the ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure for ordering guidance.
Limitations
This is a laboratory‑developed test (LDT) performed as a stain‑and‑return technical service; interpretive reporting and clinical context are not provided. It is not FDA‑approved and serves as a supplemental technical procedure unable to provide diagnostic interpretation.
