Aspergillus fumigatus Antibody IgG
Also known as: ASPERF IGG
Use
The Aspergillus fumigatus Antibody IgG test aids in diagnosing allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) by measuring specific IgG antibody concentrations to Aspergillus fumigatus. It is important to interpret the results in conjunction with the patient's clinical, laboratory, and radiologic findings, and in alignment with current practice guidelines. Positive results are not disease-specific and may also be observed in healthy individuals.
Special Instructions
Please review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to ensure adequate volume for allergen testing. Use a plain red or serum separator tube (SST) for collection. Transfer serum to an ARUP standard transport tube promptly.
Limitations
This test is not appropriate for diagnosing invasive aspergillosis. Elevated specific IgG concentrations to Aspergillus fumigatus are not exclusively indicative of disease and can be found in healthy individuals. Results need to be interpreted within the entirety of clinical findings and guidelines.
