B Cell Subset Analysis
Also known as: B SUBSETS
Use
This panel identifies B-cell dysregulation, aids in diagnosing common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), and assists in predicting clinical phenotypes. It can assess B cell reconstitution post-bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It is effective in identifying disorders impacting CD27+ B-cells and immunoglobulin class switching, crucial for mature B-cell development and function.
Special Instructions
Not recommended for rituximab monitoring; refer to B-cell CD20 Expression (0092099). Specimens must be transported refrigerated and analyzed within 48 hours of collection.
Limitations
Reference intervals for CD20+ B-cells are not established for patients under 16. Other B-cell subsets' intervals for patients younger than 16 are literature-derived. The test is unsuitable for monitoring rituximab therapy and has specific limitations for interpreting CD20+ subsets in younger populations.
