Use
The Breast Carcinoma Dual Stain by Immunohistochemistry is used to support the diagnosis of breast carcinoma by identifying specific protein markers through staining. This test provides valuable information for distinguishing between different types of breast tissue and can aid in the diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer.
Special Instructions
IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY ORDERING AND SUBMISSION DETAILS: Submit electronic request. If you do not have electronic ordering capability, use an ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) with an ARUP client number. For additional technical details, contact ARUP Client Services.
Limitations
This test is performed as a stain and return (technical) service only. This may limit the availability of additional clinical information or consultation based on the staining results. Interpretation should be correlated with clinical and other diagnostic findings. Nonrepresentative tissue type and depleted specimens are deemed unacceptable for analysis.

Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed specimen. Transport tissue block or 5 unstained slides in a kit.
Storage Instructions
Protect paraffin block and/or slides from excessive heat.
Causes for Rejection
Specimens submitted with nonrepresentative tissue type. Depleted specimens.
