CD35 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: CD35 IHC
Use
CD35 IHC is a technical (stain-and-return) immunohistochemistry assay performed on tissue or cell specimens to detect the CD35 antigen, a complement receptor present on follicular dendritic cells and other immune cells. This stain may assist in the diagnosis of hematopathologic and lymphoid neoplasms by identifying CD35 expression patterns.
Special Instructions
Submit electronic requests where available. Otherwise, use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) with client number. Protect paraffin blocks or unstained slides from heat; supply tissue block or at least five unstained positively charged 3–5 micron slides (minimum two). Transport in ARUP tissue transport kit (#47808), available via eSupply or ARUP Connect. If sending precut slides, do not oven bake. Ship in cooled container during summer.
Limitations
Specimens that are depleted or non-representative are unacceptable. The test is performed as a stain-and-return technical service only; no pathologist interpretation is included. Stability is indefinite at ambient or refrigerated temperatures; frozen specimens are unacceptable.
