Cryptosporidium Antigen by EIA

Use
This test is utilized for the detection of Cryptosporidium antigen in stool samples. It is recommended for cases of persistent diarrhea lasting more than 14 days where Cryptosporidium spp is suspected as the infectious agent, especially in patients with known risk factors.
Special Instructions
This test is not a substitute for comprehensive testing and should be used in conjunction with clinical findings and other diagnostic assays. Refer to the Ova & Parasite Exam, Fecal (Immunocompromised or Travel History) for comprehensive evaluation.
Limitations
The qualitative enzyme immunoassay used in this test has certain limitations. False positives or negatives may occur due to technical errors or inherent limitations of the assay. It is crucial to interpret results in the context of clinical findings, and follow-up with additional testing may be necessary for confirmation.
