Cytogenomic Molecular Inversion Probe Array FFPE Tissue - Oncology
Also known as: FFPEARRAY
Use
The Cytogenomic Molecular Inversion Probe Array FFPE Tissue - Oncology is a preferred test for FFPE tissue at the time of diagnosis. It is used to detect prognostically important genomic abnormalities in leukemias/lymphomas and solid tumors involving loss or gain of DNA, as well as loss of heterozygosity (LOH). This test may also be used to monitor disease progression and response to therapy.
Special Instructions
If multiple specimens (blocks or slides) are sent to ARUP, they must be accompanied by an order comment indicating the ARUP pathologist should choose the specimen most appropriate for testing. Alternatively, individual orders for each sample submitted must be provided. A Pathologist Block Selection Fee (ARUP test code 3002076) will be added to orders using the first option.
Limitations
This analysis cannot provide structural (positional) information associated with genomic imbalance. Additional cytogenetic testing by chromosome analysis or fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) may be recommended. Certain genomic alterations may not be detected by this technology, including CNVs below the resolution limit, sequence-level variants, low-level mosaicism, balanced rearrangements, and genomic imbalances in repetitive DNA regions. Structural information may also not be available for mosaicism below 30% presence.
