Drug Detection Panel and THC Metabolite, Umbilical Cord Tissue, Qualitative
Also known as: C PAN_THC
Use
The Drug Detection Panel and THC Metabolite test is intended to detect and document fetal drug exposure during approximately the last trimester of a full-term pregnancy. This test is used to reflect maternal drug use and can report the presence of over 60 substances, including opioids, stimulants, sedatives/hypnotics, and metabolites of THC. It serves as a clinical tool to understand potential drug exposure but does not ascertain the frequency or pattern of drug use.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
This test cannot distinguish between delta-8 and delta-9 THC forms or their metabolites. A negative result does not exclude the possibility of maternal drug use during pregnancy, as detection is contingent upon multiple factors, including the stability of the drug, maternal usage level, deposition characteristics, and the analytical method's performance.
