Drug Profile, Targeted by Tandem Mass Spectrometry and Enzyme Immunoassay, Urine
Also known as: PAIN HYB U
Use
This test provides a qualitative analysis to monitor medication compliance and detect undisclosed drug/substance use, supporting pain management, substance use disorders treatment, and other pharmacotherapies involving controlled substances. It is useful for identifying issues with drug absorption, timing of specimen collection, or noncompliance in patients under drug therapies.
Special Instructions
For expert interpretation of results, refer to test code 2009288. Confirmation and quantification by a second analytical technique can be requested within two weeks of specimen collection, with additional charges applying for confirmatory tests by mass spectrometry.
Limitations
This test does not distinguish between delta-8 and delta-9 forms of THC or their metabolites. Results may be affected by inappropriate timing of specimen collection, poor drug absorption, or diluted/adulterated urine. The presence of drugs is based on cutoff concentrations, and results that do not align with clinical expectations should be interpreted cautiously.
