Drug Profile, Targeted with Interpretation by Tandem Mass Spectrometry and Enzyme Immunoassay, Urine
Also known as: PAIN HYB 2
Use
This test is used to monitor medication compliance and detect undisclosed drug/substance use to support pain management and treatment of substance use disorders. It involves a qualitative analysis of urine samples using tandem mass spectrometry and enzyme immunoassay methods. Expert interpretation of the results is provided by clinical toxicologists.
Special Instructions
Submission of medication history is required along with test orders to optimize reporting. The medication history should include the names, dosing frequency, and date of last dose for all medications being taken. If unavailable, specific interpretation may not be possible.
Limitations
This test does not differentiate between the delta-8 and delta-9 forms of THC or their metabolites. The absence of drugs or metabolites can indicate non-compliance, improper specimen collection timing, poor drug absorption, diluted/adulterated urine, or testing limitations. For confirmatory quantitative results, contact the laboratory within two weeks to request additional testing via a second analytical technique.
