Use
This is a laboratory-developed stain-and-return immunohistochemistry (IHC) test developed and validated by ARUP Laboratories, intended to detect human germinal center–associated lymphoma protein (HGAL) expression in tissue specimens. The staining aids in diagnostic evaluation of lymphoma by identifying HGAL protein presence in clinical tissue samples

Limitations
Developed and performed by ARUP; not cleared or approved by the FDA. Intended for clinical use in a CLIA-certified laboratory, but lacks FDA clearance. As an IHC stain, interpret in context of morphology and other diagnostic information.

Collection Instructions
Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed specimen (cells must be prepared into a cellblock). Protect paraffin block and/or slides from excessive heat. Transport tissue block or unstained sections; if sending precut slides, do not oven bake.
Storage Instructions
Room temperature; also acceptable refrigerated. Ship in cooled container during summer months.

Nonrepresentative tissue type; depleted specimens
