HLA Class I and II Panel (A,B,C,DRB1, DRB345, DQA1, DQB1, DPA1, DPB1) by Next Generation Sequencing
Also known as: HLA 11LOCI
Use
This test is intended for pretransplant allele matching by identifying HLA allelic polymorphisms across multiple loci, specifically HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1, -DRB345, -DQA1, -DQB1, -DPA1, and -DPB1. It is used to assist in the selection of compatible organ donors and recipients by identifying potential allele matches and mismatches that could affect organ transplant outcomes.
Special Instructions
Testing is not New York state approved. Specimens from New York clients will be sent out to a New York state-approved laboratory.
Limitations
Rare diagnostic errors can occur due to primer site mutations. Additional unknown DNA polymorphisms might exist outside of the regions analyzed, the significance of which is not known. The test has not been cleared or approved by the FDA, but such clearance is deemed unnecessary for clinical purposes. It should not be regarded as investigational or for research use only. Results are reported with possible rare alleles that cannot be ruled out by the NMDP code.
