HLA-DQ Genotyping
Also known as: HLADQ DNA
Use
The HLA-DQ Genotyping test is useful in immunization/vaccination trials and aids in the clinical diagnosis of diseases strongly associated with the HLA-DQ locus. It can also help rule out celiac disease in cases where other testing is inconclusive, and is useful in identifying genetic predispositions linked to narcolepsy.
Special Instructions
Order this test for single antigen HLA-DQ identification. Use lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), or yellow (ACD Solution A or B) tubes for sample collection.
Limitations
This test cannot establish a diagnosis solely based on the presence of a disease-associated HLA combination. Single allele reporting suggests homozygosity. Certain diagnostic errors may occur due to primer or probe site mutations, and it is not sufficient for comprehensive HLA evaluation necessary for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation assessment. Alternative comprehensive panels by NGS are recommended for pre-transplant matching.
