Use
The Hyaluronic Acid, Serum test is a noninvasive method for assessing liver status. It measures the concentration of hyaluronic acid in the serum, which can be an indicator of liver disease severity. This assay may be used in the evaluation of conditions such as cirrhosis and other liver-related disorders, providing a clinical decision support tool to manage patient care.
Special Instructions
The test is performed using the Corgenix Hyaluronic Acid test kit. Clinicians should ensure that the serum or plasma is separated from cells as soon as possible, preferably within 2 hours of collection, to maintain sample integrity. Different assay methods or kits may not yield interchangeable results.
Limitations
This test has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. It was developed and its performance characteristics were determined by ARUP Laboratories, operating as a Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) within a CLIA certified laboratory. Results from this test should not be used interchangeably with other methods due to potential variability.
