Interleukin 1 beta, Plasma
Also known as: IL1B PLA
Use
The test is used primarily for research and to support understanding of the pathogenesis of immune, infectious, allergic, or inflammatory disorders. It aids in comprehending the pathophysiology of these conditions and contributes to scientific investigations.
Special Instructions
Cytokine levels may demonstrate diurnal variation. For longitudinal comparison, it is recommended that cytokine levels be determined at the same time of day.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories, and it has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. It is performed in a CLIA certified laboratory and intended for clinical purposes. Results are to be used within the contextual limitations of research and pathophysiology studies.
