Interleukin 2 Receptor, Soluble, Plasma
Also known as: IL2R PLA
Use
This test is primarily used for research purposes and to support attempts to understand the pathogenesis of immune, infectious, allergic, or inflammatory disorders. The results aid in understanding the pathophysiology of these disorders, providing insights into cytokine activity within the body.
Special Instructions
Cytokine levels may exhibit diurnal variation. It is recommended that samples be collected at the same time of day for longitudinal comparison to ensure consistency in results.
Limitations
The test has not been cleared or approved by the FDA and its performance characteristics were determined by ARUP Laboratories. The methodology used is highly specialized and may not be standardized across different laboratories. Results should be interpreted in the context of the entire clinical picture and not be used as the sole diagnostic criterion.
