Methaqualone Quantitative, Urine
Also known as: METHAQ UR
Use
This test is used for the quantitative measurement of methaqualone in urine, aiding in the detection of methaqualone use. It provides a measure of the concentration of methaqualone in the urine sample, which can be useful in clinical settings to monitor drug intake or verify abstinence.
Special Instructions
The test is not performed at ARUP Laboratories, and therefore, separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. The storage conditions allow flexibility, as the sample can be kept at room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen.
Limitations
The test is qualitative and may not detect very low levels of methaqualone below the specified reporting limit. It is important to note that this test was developed by NMS Labs and has not been cleared or approved by the US FDA. Results should be interpreted in the context of the complete clinical picture.
