NKX2.2 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: NKX2.2 IHC
Use
Immunohistochemical staining for NKX2.2 is provided as a technical 'stain and return' service to aid in diagnostics, particularly helpful in the immunophenotypic evaluation of tumors such as Ewing sarcoma, by detecting expression of the NKX2.2 protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue.
Special Instructions
Refer to ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure for further routing. This test is New York state approved. It is performed only as a stain and return (technical) service. Ordering requires transport in tissue transport kit (ARUP supply #47808) or slides/blocks; do not oven bake precut slides.
Limitations
Not suitable for frozen specimens. Specimens with nonrepresentative tissue or depleted material are unacceptable. Slides or blocks must be properly fixed, embedded, and transported to preserve antigenicity; non‑oven‑baked, paraffin‑embedded tissue in block or at least 5 unstained sections are required.
