p16 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: P16 IHC
Use
p16 (also known as p16 IHC or P16 immunostaining) is used as an immunohistochemical stain (technical service only) to detect expression of the p16 protein, typically in the evaluation of lesions associated with human papillomavirus (HPV)–related neoplasia. It serves as a marker of cell cycle dysregulation, aiding in diagnostic contexts of dysplasia or carcinoma in which p16 overexpression is clinically significant.

Not provided.
Limitations
Unacceptable specimens include non‑representative tissue types and depleted specimens. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. The stain is a technical service only and does not include interpretation unless separately ordered. No interpretive report is provided as part of this technical stain service.
