PD-1 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: PD1 IHC
Use
PD-1 by Immunohistochemistry is used for the evaluation and research of PD-1 expression in tissues. While not approved by the FDA as a companion diagnostic, this test is performed for immunohistochemical staining to assist in research and clinical studies related to PD-1 expression. It is utilized in detecting PD-1 protein presence in formalin-fixed tissues and cell blocks.
Special Instructions
For the test submission, it is necessary to submit an electronic order request. If electronic ordering is unavailable, an ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) along with an ARUP client number can be used. Make sure to protect formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens from excessive heat during transport.
Limitations
This PD-1 by Immunohistochemistry test is not FDA-approved and is categorized as a Laboratory Developed Test (LDT). It is intended solely as a technical service and not for interpretation. The performance characteristics of this LDT have been determined by ARUP Laboratories in accordance with CLIA standards, but the results should be utilized within the context of a validated research protocol.
