QuantiFERON‑TB Gold Plus, 1‑Tube (Change effective as of 05/20/24: Refer to 3017554)
Also known as: QFT-PLUS
Use
Aids in the detection of latent disease among persons at increased risk for tuberculosis (TB). Positive predictive value is decreased in low-risk populations. May be used in persons who have received the bacille Calmette‑Guérin (BCG) vaccine.
Special Instructions
This test has been replaced effective May 20, 2024; clients should refer to test 3017554. A single lithium‑heparin collection tube must be used (ARUP supply #54015). Do not collect or ship on holidays or the day before holidays.
Limitations
A qualitative result (Negative, Positive, or Indeterminate) is based on interpretation of NIL, MITOGEN minus NIL, TB1 minus NIL, and TB2 minus NIL values. A negative result does not completely rule out TB infection. False‑positive results in the absence of other clinical evidence are not uncommon. Positive predictive value decreased in low‑risk populations.
