Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing, Familial Control

Use
This test is used to submit required parental control samples associated with a proband sample submitted for Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing (ARUP test code 3005935). It aids in interpretation of the proband’s sequencing data. No independent report is provided when this test is ordered directly. It is intended for use when secondary findings (such as ACMG‐recommended pathogenic variants) for parental samples are not desired, with a separate test available if such findings are required.
Special Instructions
Use only for parental control samples; for parental report with secondary findings, order the separate test code 3005933. A Genome Sequencing Intake Form (required) must accompany submission. Contact ARUP genetic counseling prior to submission. Comparator samples must be submitted within 7 days of the proband’s sample.
Limitations
A report will not be provided for samples ordered using this test code. Secondary findings for parental samples are not reported. New York state clients: this test is not New York state approved; ARUP cannot facilitate testing for New York state clients.
