STAT6 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: STAT6 IHC
Use
This immunohistochemical stain is a laboratory-developed test (LDT) performed by ARUP Laboratories, intended for clinical purposes to assess STAT6 protein expression in tissue specimens. The test assists in detecting nuclear STAT6 presence, which is diagnostically significant for entities such as solitary fibrous tumors / hemangiopericytomas, functioning as a diagnostic marker via staining of formalin-fixed paraffin‑embedded or cellblock tissue.
Special Instructions
This test is performed as a stain‑and‑return (technical) service only. It operates Monday through Friday and is New York state approved.
Limitations
This test has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, though it was developed and its performance characteristics were determined by ARUP Laboratories in a CLIA‑certified laboratory. Interpretation must be contextualized clinically. Specimens that are non‑representative tissue type or depleted are unacceptable. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Slides must not be oven baked if precut, and need to be protected from excessive heat.
