Tapentadol Urine Screen with Reflex to Quantitation
Also known as: TAPEN RFXU
Use
This test is useful for general screening in contexts of compliance and/or abuse. It is a preferred method for ruling out tapentadol exposure. In cases where a presumptive result is obtained, follow-up testing using Tapentadol, Urine, Quantitative (2003128) is recommended.
Special Instructions
If the specimen screens positive, Confirmation/Quantitation by LC-MS/MS (ARUP test code 2003128) will be added to confirm results. Additional charges apply. The concentration detection varies within a drug class and presumptive negative results for drugs can indicate various conditions including non-compliance or inappropriate timing of specimen collection relative to drug administration.
Limitations
This test is intended for medical purposes only and is not valid for forensic use. Presumptive negative results may indicate non-compliance, improper timing of specimen collection, poor drug absorption, diluted/adulterated urine, or testing limitations. The concentration value must be greater than or equal to the cutoff to be reported as positive.
