Uroplakin II by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: UROPII IHC
Use
This test offers immunohistochemical staining for Uroplakin II, a protein expressed specifically in urothelial differentiation, useful for assisting in the identification of urothelial carcinoma origin. It is used as a technical “stain and return” service to aid pathologic diagnosis in carcinoma-of-unknown-primary and related contexts. (Evidence: methodology section, note regarding stain and return, test utility implied by IHC use)
Special Instructions
Performed Monday through Friday. It is a stain-and-return technical service only. Ordering recommendations refer to the ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure.
Limitations
