Use
This test is preferred for diagnosing vitamin D insufficiency and monitoring therapy response. Testing is recommended for patients at risk for vitamin D insufficiency. It accurately quantifies total serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D2 and D3, providing a comprehensive assessment of vitamin D status.
Special Instructions
This test is approved by the New York State Department of Health.
Limitations
It is unsuitable for patients not at risk of vitamin D deficiency. Results may be affected by gross hemolysis or lipemia, interfering with the quantification of vitamin D levels.
