Whole Genome Sequencing, Familial Control
Also known as: WGS FRPT
Use
This test is used to submit parental control samples in conjunction with a proband sample undergoing Whole Genome Sequencing to support interpretation. Parental samples aid in the interpretation of the proband’s genome sequencing data and can be used to determine chromosomal phasing and de novo variants. Reporting of ACMG secondary findings for parental controls is optional if opted‐in on the Whole Genome Sequencing Intake Form (additional charges apply).
Special Instructions
Requires completion of Genome Sequencing Intake Form. Parental control samples must be submitted within 7 days of the proband sample. Contact ARUP’s genetic counselor prior to submission. New York state clients cannot use this test; ARUP cannot facilitate testing for New York state clients.
