Use
This test is a customization of the GeneDx Slice approach to target exomic sequencing to a provider-specified gene list in the context of hypoglycemia, enabling focused analysis where a specific genetic etiology for hypoglycemia is unclear or suspects a defined set of genes not encompassed in existing panels.
Special Instructions
Ordering requires submission of a gene list via the GeneDx Custom Slice tool; GeneDx clinical staff review and approve gene list within 3 business days and issue a tracking number that must be included with the sample submission.
Limitations
The analytic pipeline sequences the whole exome but only analyzes the genes requested; secondary findings in ACMG’s recommended list are not reported unless included in the custom gene list, and reporting is limited to the phenotype-driven gene set.
