Suggested Custom Slice – Primary Immunodeficiency
Use
The GeneDx Custom Slice tests utilize whole‑exome sequencing data but focus analysis on a provider‑specified gene list, tailored to the patient’s phenotype. They are suited for individuals with a defined or oligogenic presentation in primary immunodeficiency, enabling targeted, customizable testing when standard panels are unavailable.
Special Instructions
Providers must submit a gene list via the Custom Slice tool; GeneDx reviews and approves the list within 3 business days and returns coverage metrics plus a tracking number that must be included with specimen submission. ACMG secondary findings are only reported if genes are on the requested list.
Limitations
The analysis is constrained to the requested gene list; other variants outside this list, including ACMG secondary findings, are not assessed or reported unless included. Family member specimens are not used in Single‑Gene or Multi‑Gene Slice unless specifically part of Slice Xpanded®. Additional fees apply for reports on family members.
