ADAMTS13 Antibody
Use
Measurement of ADAMTS13 antibody level
Special Instructions
The sample should be collected in a blue-top tube containing 3.2% buffered sodium citrate and should be mixed immediately after collection. Plasma must be transferred to a Labcorp PP transpak frozen purple tube and frozen immediately after separation to maintain sample integrity. Coordination may be required when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. Severe deficiency (<10% activity) is specific to hereditary or acquired TTP but does not exclude a clinical diagnosis if levels are greater than 10%. Other conditions may show normal or mild to moderate deficiency of ADAMTS13 activity, including hemolytic uremic syndromes and other thrombotic microangiopathies.
