Antidepressant Drug Profile, Urine
Use
Detect presence of antidepressant drugs
Special Instructions
Ensure proper collection and handling of the urine specimen according to the specified conditions. Transport the specimen within three days at room temperature for optimal results; for storage beyond this period, refrigeration or freezing is required to preserve sample integrity.
Limitations
While the Antidepressant Drug Profile, Urine test is useful for detecting the presence of common antidepressant medications, it may not cover all possible drugs within this category. The detection and quantitation of the respective drugs are dependent on the sensitivity of the method used, and various factors such as urine pH and the presence of metabolites can affect the results. Additionally, the test does not discriminate between therapeutic use and the presence resulting from a prior overdose.
