Buprenorphine, Screen and Confirmation, Urine
Also known as: Suboxone®
Use
Monitor use of prescribed medication and detection of illicit use
Special Instructions
Specimens should be maintained at room temperature unless they are going to be stored for more than seven days, in which case they should be refrigerated. Ensure that the specimen is properly labeled with sufficient volume to avoid rejection.
Limitations
The test may not detect buprenorphine use if the drug has been eliminated from the body, if the sample is diluted, or in cases of new or infrequent usage that results in low urinary concentrations. False positives may occur due to cross-reacting substances. It does not differentiate between prescription and illicit use unless historical prescription data is available.
