Use
Monitor caffeine concentration in newborns receiving theophylline or caffeine.
Special Instructions
The test should be conducted using a red-top (no additive) tube or green-top (heparin) tube. Gel-barrier tubes are not recommended. After collection, separated serum or plasma should be transferred to a plastic transport tube. Ensure proper storage conditions for accurate results.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Results are dependent on the method used, and variations in the method could affect results. Testing schedules may vary, so additional time may be needed for confirmatory tests.
