Use
Detect fetal exposure to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, marijuana)
Special Instructions
Initial presumptive testing is performed via immunoassay at a threshold of 25 ng/gm; presumptive positives are reflexively confirmed by liquid chromatography‑tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS‑MS). Specimens from different voidings may be pooled. Collection uses a Meconium Collection Kit (PeopleSoft No. 96663) or a clean, leak‑proof polypropylene container. For transport less than 3 days, room temperature is acceptable; for longer storage, refrigerate or freeze. Specimen volume preferred is 5 g (minimum 1 g).
