Cannabinoids (THC), Synthetic, Whole Blood
Also known as: K2 WB, Spice
Use
Detect presence of synthetic cannabinoids
Special Instructions
The test should be ordered by healthcare providers and the specimen must be collected in specific tubes such as lavender-top (EDTA), green-top (heparin), or gray-top (sodium fluoride) tubes. Timely transport and appropriate storage of specimens are important to maintain the integrity of the sample.
Limitations
This test is specific to synthetic cannabinoids and does not detect natural THC or other common drugs of abuse. The detection limit is set at 1.0 ng/mL, and substances below this threshold may not be detected. Variation in individual metabolism and sample handling can impact results. This test has not been cleared or approved by the FDA; thus, its use is intended primarily for clinical purposes.
