Use
Quantitative detection of CMV DNA in plasma specimens as an aid to diagnosis and management of CMV infections.
Special Instructions
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Limitations
Quantitative range is 200 to 1 million IU/mL.

Ship in a screw-cap polypropylene frozen transport tube.
Collection Instructions
Collect specimen in lavender-top (EDTA) tube. Centrifuge specimen within 24 hours of collection. Remove plasma, transfer plasma to a screw-cap polypropylene transport tube, and freeze. Ship frozen (preferred).
