Drug Screen 16 With Reflex Confirmation (AMP,BAR,BZO,COC,PCP,THC,OPI,OXY,MD,FEN,BUP,PPX,MEP,TRAM,GABA,CAR), Whole Blood
Use
The Drug Screen 16 test with reflex confirmation is designed to detect the presence of 16 different drug substances and metabolites in whole blood specimens. It is primarily used for drug monitoring and detection programs where blood samples are more appropriate than urine. These substances include illicit drugs, prescription medications, and other controlled substances. The test includes initial presumptive screening followed by confirmatory testing for positive results using more definitive techniques.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The test was developed by LabCorp and its performance characteristics have not been cleared or approved by the FDA. As such, results should be considered as part of a broader clinical assessment. False positives and negatives can occur and reflex confirmation by mass spectrometry is used to improve specificity and sensitivity.
