Use
Determine and/or differentiation of normal versus premalignant versus malignant cells
Special Instructions
Include the patient's name, birth date, sex, Social Security number, previous malignancy, drug therapy, radiation therapy, mammogram, and all other pertinent clinical information on the request form.
Limitations
The results of the ductal lavage cytology test should not be used as definitive evidence for the presence or absence of breast carcinoma. This test is intended to be used in conjunction with other breast cancer detection methodologies, such as mammography and physical examination, for a more comprehensive evaluation.
