Use
This test is intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of infection with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV).
Special Instructions
Real-time PCR methodology is used for this test. It is important to ensure that the specimen is collected, stored, and transported under recommended conditions to avoid rejection due to quantity not sufficient for analysis or specimen contamination.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). There might be delays in result reporting if additional confirmatory or reflex tests are required. Results must be interpreted in the context of the patient's clinical presentation and history.
