Use
This test is intended to be used for the quantitative detection of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA and as an aid in the diagnosis and management of EBV infections.
Special Instructions
This test is currently not available in New York state.
Limitations
The quantitative range for this test is between 100 and 1,000,000 copies/mL. It is important to note that this test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as the FDA determined that such clearance or approval is not necessary. Additionally, the test is not suitable for frozen blood, heparin tube samples, improper labeling, gross specimen contamination, improper storage or transport, specimen too old, and leaking or broken tubes.
