Felbamate, Serum or Plasma
Also known as: Felbatol®
Use
Therapeutic drug management
Special Instructions
Trough levels are most reproducible. It is important to transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube, as gel-barrier tubes are not recommended for this test.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, which may affect its use in clinical decision-making. The therapeutic range provided (40–100 µg/mL) is based on the observed range of concentrations in patients successfully treated with felbamate, but it is not an established therapeutic range.
