Golimumab and Anti-Golimumab Antibody, DoseASSURE™ GOL
Also known as: DoseASSURE, Golimumab, Simponi
Use
The Golimumab and Anti-Golimumab Antibody, DoseASSURE™ GOL test is used for therapeutic drug monitoring of golimumab levels in serum. It assesses the presence and concentration of golimumab, a biologic used in the treatment of certain autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis. The presence of anti-golimumab antibodies can suggest immunogenicity which may impact drug efficacy.
Special Instructions
Patients advised to stop biotin supplements 72 hours prior to sample collection to avoid interference with the assay. Serum/plasma must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of collection and sent in a plastic transport tube.
Limitations
Failure of golimumab therapy may not always be due to the presence of anti-golimumab antibodies, and the absence of these antibodies does not guarantee treatment effectiveness. High serum biotin concentrations can interfere with assay results.
