Gynecologic Pap Test, Liquid-based Preparation and Chlamydia/Gonococcus/Trichomonas, NAA
Use
Diagnose primary or metastatic neoplasm; detect Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Trichomonas vaginalis
Special Instructions
Include complete patient clinical information on the cytology test request form, such as demographic information, previous malignancies, treatments, last menstrual period, and any pertinent clinical history. Note that additional charges may apply for pathologist review under certain conditions. Ensure proper collection and sample handling to prevent unsatisfactory results.
Limitations
The test may yield suboptimal results if the specimen lacks adequate ectocervical, endocervical, or vaginal cell populations. Excessive use of lubricating jelly can interfere with cytologic examination. It's critical that testing for Chlamydia, Gonococcus, and Trichomonas occur at the time of processing and cannot be added later.
