HLA DRB1 CWD Resolution
Also known as: CWD Resolution Typing
Use
DRB1 antigens may be correlated with certain disease states or other clinical conditions. Also used for screening of transplant candidates and potential donors, transfusion of specifically compatible blood products, among others. This test is for single locus typing at CWD or higher resolution.
Special Instructions
Indicate in the clinical information which antigen(s) is of interest when ordering. For assistance, contact HLA customer service at 800-533-1037. Using the correct buccal swab kit is essential; the kit can be obtained by calling the same number.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. It is not cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The assay may not resolve alleles that encode identical protein sequences in the antigen recognition site (ARS) even if they are CWD. Also, rare or unusual allele combinations may not be ruled out, but all alleles encountered will be reported if they cannot be excluded.
